What is Steadwell?
Steadwell is a home management app for homeowners. It tracks maintenance, warranties, safety recalls, utility bills, expenses, insurance, contractors and documents for your home in one place, and uses AI to scan receipts, appliance nameplates and bills and to assess the condition of appliances and systems from photos.
Is Steadwell free?
Yes. The Free plan has no time limit and includes unlimited tasks, assets and expenses, warranty and recall alerts, utility and bill tracking, a contractor rolodex and 250 MB of document and photo storage for one property. Plus is $7.99 a month ($63.99 a year) and Pro is $14.99 a month ($119.99 a year).
Can Steadwell track my utility bills?
Yes. Track electric, gas, water, sewer, internet and trash bills with usage, a six-month average and spike alerts. Add bills by scanning them with AI (Plus and Pro), forwarding the email, or typing them in. Utility bills also count toward your yearly and all-time home spend. If your city puts water, sewer and trash on one bill, add it as a single utility and, if you like, split each bill by service.
Can Steadwell show what my home costs to own?
Yes. The Fixed costs tab on the Money page adds your home loan, property tax, insurance, HOA dues and regular services to your utilities and repairs, and shows a typical month, where the money goes and what is due soon. Typing costs in is free on every plan. With Plus or Pro, you can upload your property tax bill and Steadwell reads it, explains it in plain English and shows how your tax has changed from year to year. You check every number before it is saved.
What is a condition assessment?
Take a few photos of an appliance or system, such as a water heater, HVAC unit or roof, and Steadwell AI grades its condition from 1 to 5 using a checklist for that item type, estimates the years it has left and suggests next steps. You review everything before it is saved. It is an estimate from photos, not a professional inspection. Condition assessments are included with Plus (5 a month) and Pro (25 a month).
How does Steadwell fill in my home details?
Enter your address and Steadwell pulls your home's year built, sale history, tax records and estimated value from public records. Then scan an appliance nameplate or receipt and AI reads the brand, model, serial number and warranty.
Does Steadwell check for product recalls?
Yes. Every tracked item is checked against the federal CPSC recall database automatically, and you are alerted if something is recalled. Recall alerts are free on every plan.
Can I share Steadwell with my spouse, partner or a team member?
Yes. The Pro plan includes shared access, so you can invite a spouse, partner, property manager or team member to a home, choose what each person can see, and assign tasks to them. Pro also covers up to three properties. There is no limit on how many people you can invite to a home, and you can add as many Admins as you like to invite and manage people for you.
Is my data private?
Your documents and records are stored privately in your account, and other Steadwell users can never see them. AI scans and assessments are processed by a third-party AI provider, and Steadwell does not use your photos to train AI. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what is shared and why.
What is Ask Steadwell?
Ask Steadwell is an AI assistant built into Steadwell. Ask a question in plain English and it answers from your own records: assets, warranties, tasks, service history, expenses and documents. It can suggest tasks, but nothing is saved until you add it. Free accounts get 3 questions to try; Plus includes 30 a month and Pro 150.
