Made for more than one person
Whether it is a family home or a rental you look after, the work rarely falls on one person.
Households
βBoth of you see the same tasks, assets and costs
βSplit the to-do list instead of texting reminders
βNobody has to ask who has the warranty
Landlords & rentals
βInvite a property manager or co-owner with Full access
βGive a handyman Tasks & assets access, without your expenses
βKeep warranties, service history and costs in one place
About expense tracking βFamily & caretakers
βAn adult child helping with a parentβs home
βA relative or caretaker with a task list
βRemove their access whenever you like
Assign the work, see who owns it
Tasks stop being a list for one person and become a plan for the whole team.
Assign tasks
βPick anyone who has accepted your invite
βSet it when you add a task or edit one later
βRecurring tasks stay with the same person
About maintenance tasks βSee who has what
βFilter by Assigned to me
βFilter by Unassigned or by person
βThe name shows on each task
They can finish it
βThe person you assigned can mark the task done
βRecurring tasks create the next one automatically
βEveryone sees the same current list
How it works
01
Open Manage people
Find the People card on My Home in Steadwell and choose Manage people.
02
Invite and choose access
Enter one or more email addresses, pick Admin, Full access or Tasks & assets, tick the homes, and tap Send invite.
03
They accept
They get one email listing their homes, sign in with that address and confirm it. Until then the invite shows as pending, and you get an email when they join.
04
Assign and manage together
Once active, choose them in the Assigned to menu on any task, and filter the list by person.
Know what you are sharing
Shared access is simple on purpose.
You choose what each person sees
Full access covers tasks, assets, service history, contractors, documents, expenses and projects. Tasks & assets keeps documents, expenses, projects and insurance private. You can change it any time.
You decide who and where
Access is set home by home, and you can remove someone at any time from the same card. Everything in a home belongs to that homeβs owner, including what the people you invite add to it.
Maintenance, not tenant management
Steadwell keeps the homeβs upkeep, warranties, documents and costs organized. It does not handle leases, rent or tenant screening.

Common questions
What is shared access?
It lets you invite other people to a property in Steadwell: a spouse or partner, a co-owner, a property manager or a team member. Everyone you invite works from the same tasks and assets, and you can assign tasks to them.
Which plan includes it?
Shared access is included with the Pro plan, which also covers up to three properties.
How many people can I invite?
As many as you need. There is no limit on people or Admins, and no extra charge per person. You can invite several people at once, choose which homes each one can work on, and each person needs a free Steadwell account using the email you invited.
What is an Admin?
An Admin has full access to every home on your account, including homes you add later, and can invite, change and remove the other people. Use it for a partner or property manager who runs things with you. Only you can add or remove Admins, and Admins cannot add or delete homes or change billing.
Can I assign tasks to the people I invite?
Yes. Once someone accepts your invite, they appear in the Assigned to menu when you add or edit a task. You can filter the task list by Assigned to me, Unassigned or by person, and the person you assigned can mark the task done.
Does it work for a rental property?
Yes, for the upkeep side of a rental. Invite your co-owner, property manager or handyman and give them tasks like the HVAC filter or the annual inspection, while warranties, service history and expenses stay in one place. Steadwell is home maintenance software, not tenant, lease or rent-collection software.
What can the people I invite see and do?
You choose a level for each person. Full access (a spouse, partner, co-owner or property manager) covers tasks, assets and warranties, service history, contractors, expenses and projects. Tasks & assets (a maintenance person or caretaker) covers tasks, assets and warranties, service history and contractors, and keeps your expenses and projects private. Full access people also see the homeβs documents and receipt files; Tasks & assets people do not. An Admin has everything Full access has, plus inviting and managing people. You can change someoneβs level or remove them at any time, and each person is emailed when their access changes.
How do I invite someone?
Open My Home and choose Manage people on the People card, enter one or more email addresses, pick a level and tick the homes they should have, then tap Send invite. Each person gets one email listing their homes. They sign in or create a free Steadwell account with that email, confirm it, and the homes appear. You can see whether each invite is pending or active.
Can I remove someone later?
Yes. You can remove access at any time from the same card, and people can also leave a home themselves. If you close your account, everyone you invited loses access right away.
Do I invite people separately for each property?
No. One invite can cover several homes, and you choose which homes each person gets. Their level is set per home, so a gardener can be on one property while your property manager is on all three.
